About the Role:

As a Family Law Litigation Attorney, you will be instrumental in representing clients through all stages of domestic relations proceedings. You will manage a diverse caseload, focusing on comprehensive case strategy, robust legal analysis, and compelling courtroom advocacy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage family law matters from inception to resolution, including divorce, legal separation, child custody, child support, spousal support/alimony, and related litigation.
• Vigorously represent clients in all court proceedings, including hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials.
• Draft precise and persuasive legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal correspondence.
• Develop astute legal strategies and case plans tailored to each client's unique circumstances and objectives.
• Maintain consistent, professional, and empathetic communication with clients, providing counsel and advocating effectively on their behalf.
• Collaborate seamlessly with paralegals and administrative staff to ensure efficient and effective case management.

What We're Looking For (Qualifications):

Must-Haves:

• Active license to practice law in West Virginia, or the ability to obtain it prior to commencing employment.
• Demonstrated experience or a strong, dedicated interest in family law litigation.
• Comfort and confidence appearing in court for hearings, proceedings, and advocating for clients.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, crucial for both legal drafting and client interaction.
• Proven ability to effectively manage multiple cases, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• A professional demeanor characterized by empathy, discretion, and a client-centered approach.

Nice-to-Haves (Preferred Qualifications):

• Prior courtroom or trial experience specifically in family law matters.
• Experience successfully handling contested custody or support cases.
• Skills in mediation or negotiation.
• Familiarity with West Virginia family law statutes, procedures, and local court rules.
• Experience working in a law firm environment, managing billable caseloads.
